- Next: Black Water Sister by Zen Cho (novel)
Previously I read If You'll Have Me by Eunnie. It's about 2 college (uni?) students who fall in love. Eunnie is the artist who made one of my favourite pieces of art - the one with Mitski's Pink in the Night.
It's so delightful, very cute. and Eunnie makes cute art about them, too.
Right now I'm reading a short story by Zen Cho called Spirits Abroad. I think Cho might be my new favourite author (not sure if I had one before). She writes in Manglish, and includes stories about Malaysian supernatural creatures. One of them is about a pontianak who's fallen in love after her death and is now supported by her (dead) older relatives.
One of these days I'm going to write another pontianak story.
That reminds me: I saw a tweet earlier about someone wondering if people still use Malay words for names and I kinda wanna name my next OC Permata or something like that. Maybe my pontianak's lover can be named Permata.
As for my next read, I think I'll try to finish Zen Cho's bibliography as documented on isfdb.
